Introduction to Fusion 360 for Educators: A 3-Part Series
Bring powerful 3D modeling into your classroom – no experience required. This three-part professional development series gives you everything you need to confidently teach Fusion 360 and inspire your students to create amazing designs.
These virtual sessions will be held at 8:00pm EST on March 19, April 2, and April 9, 2025.
Fusion 360 is a cloud-based computer-aided design (CAD) software that lets you create 3D models and designs for manufacturing, engineering, and product development.
Through three virtual sessions, you’ll master the fundamentals of Fusion 360, advanced 3D modeling techniques, and how to bring it into your classroom. No prior experience is necessary!
What You’ll Learn
Session 1 (March 19): Foundations & 2D Sketching
- Explore a comprehensive year-long 9th-grade Design & Fabrication curriculum
- Navigate the Fusion 360 interface with confidence
- Master 2D sketching techniques that form the foundation of all designs
- See actual student projects and progression paths
Session 2 (April 2): Bringing Designs to Life with Extrude
- Transform 2D sketches into tangible 3D models
- Learn how to use the essential extrude tool
- Create designs students can fabricate using 3D printers or CNC machines
- Develop lesson plans that guide students through the design process
Session 3 (April 9): Creating Complex Designs with Revolve
