Design FAB Collection 2025
Connecting students to collaboratively create an emotive art piece using digital design and fabrication tools.
The CIJE Design and Fabrication Collection turns your school’s Maker-space into a hub for learning, self-discovery, and engagement with Jewish themes. Students use tools like 3D printers, laser cutters, and more to create and innovate. An end of year capstone project incorporates computerized design to explore Jewish themes and produce unique artifacts.
This year’s theme for The CIJE Design FAB Collection is Hiddur Mitzvah: Crafting Beauty and Function in Judaica Design. For this year’s theme we encourage submissions which bring new life to a mitzvah through designing a Judaica piece that seamlessly integrates aesthetic beauty with functional design. Students are encouraged to select a mitzvah that either invites the creation of a new ritual object or inspires the reimagining of an existing one.
Past themes have included “Sacred Time” the balance between peace and truth and “Me and We: Individuality within Community.
The year ends with a Gallery Unveiling, where students present their work to experts, focusing on their thought process and personal connection to the theme.
New this year are four design challenges with instructional videos to help students develop skills and connect nationwide.
